Derby-based Workstation Specialists has updated its RS-R render node, a scalable, dedicated rack mounted rendering system.

The 1U machine can now be powered by up to two Intel Xeon E5 2600 v3 series processors with ten, twelve or fourteen cores.

It can host up to 512GB of ECC memory per system and can be configured from 2 to over 200 render nodes to suit rendering projects and studios of any size.

Each render node is 100 per cent independent, utilising a separate highly efficient power supply unit (80Plus Platinum) and can be operated in or out of the rack enclosure.

Workstation Specialists is pitching the machine at users of 3ds Max, Mental Ray, Maya, KeyShot, Cinema4D, Realflow, After Effects and Vray.
