Ain’t she a beaut? The $10 Raspberry Pi Zero W

On its fifth birthday Raspberry Pi has brought into the world the latest version of its ‘general purpose’ computer – the wireless LAN and Bluetooth connected Raspberry Pi Zero W, priced at only $10.

With a 1GHz, single-core CPU, 512MB RAM, as well as power and connector ports, the additions of wifi and bluetooth connectivity should make prototyping easier, and more varied as it frees up a connector port (and saves a few quid, given that most people use a dongle that costs more than the board).

Raspberry Pi have also worked with Kinneir Dufort and T-Zero to create an official injection-moulded case, with three interchangeable lids: A blank one; one with an aperture to let you access the GPIOs, and one with an aperture and mounting point for a camera.
However, with a diminutive 65 x 30 x 5mm form, we expect may of you can already envisage working on some truly imaginative custom mounts and setups.
