The Fuel3D scanner and Ultimaker 2 will be available to buy in October as a bundle

Fuel3D has announced it’s new distribution agreement with desktop 3D printing maestros Ultimaker to package its 3D scanner as part of a bundle deal including the Ultimaker 2.

The Fuel3D handheld 3D scanner delivers high resolution shape and colour for a range of 3D modelling applications – including scanning people’s faces, as the team were happy to do to all comers at our event, DEVELOP3D Live.

With pre-calibrated stereo cameras with photometric imaging, it’s a super fast way to capture and process a 3D model, while the Ultimaker 2 is one of the most solidly performing desktop 3D printers around.
“We want to transform people’s ability to create original content with their 3D printers and to do that we need to work with industry leaders like Ultimaker,” said Stuart Mead, CEO, Fuel3D Technologies. “This partnership with Ultimaker in the UK is a perfect tie-in for us and we are looking forward to working with them to bring the benefits of the Fuel3D scanner to 3D printing enthusiasts across the country.”

The companies will be jointly promoting each other’s products on their stands at this week’s 3DPrintshow in London, 4 – 6 September, with the bundle deal available via their websites starting in October 2014.

Although there’s no set pricing yet available, we were told that the primary value to the customer will be in the form of extras, including additional filament supplies and bundled software with upgrades.
