AMD targets budget conscious CAD users with $199 Radeon Pro WX 3200

AMD is going after the budget end of the workstation market with its new $199 Radeon Pro WX 3200 professional graphics card. The low-profile card is focused on mainstream 3D CAD and is designed to fit into Small Form Factor (SFF) workstations like the HP Z2 SFF.

With 1.66 TFLOPS peak single precision compute performance, the Radeon Pro WX 3200 is up to 33 percent faster than the previous generation Radeon Pro WX 3100.

AMD reckons the Radeon Pro WX 3200 is best suited to small and medium projects. However, in some heavily CPU bound applications like Autodesk Revit or Autodesk Inventor we expect it will deliver the same performance as the more powerful Radeon Pro WX 4100 or WX 5100 GPUs, regardless of model size.
